When you enter the Conservation Area, the Toll Booth Troll on duty will give you a packet including The Keystone, the bi-annual newspaper put together by the BLM.  The paper includes a map of the Loop area and the hiking trails.  A brief description of each trail is given which includes the distance, hiking time, elevation change, and level of difficulty.

BE SURE TO CHECK OUT THE PACKET BEFORE PROCEEDING AROUND THE LOOP.......THERE IS VALUABLE INFORMATION IN THERE!

On your first visit please stop by the Visitor Center and visit the Book and Gift Store.  Proceeds from the store go directly to the stewardship of the Conservation Area.  We are a non-profit organization!

A really neat Junior Ranger Certificate is awarded to youngsters who complete a booklet about the desert.  The booklet is available at the Visitor Center!  The youngster is publicly sworn in as a Junior Ranger [unless they are too shy] and receive a badge!
