UPDATE: As of November 2019, the Red Spring Boardwalk has reopened!

Construction has started on the Red Spring Boardwalk in the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area. During construction, the boardwalk is closed, but the picnic areas will remain open. Some parking will be occupied by construction equipment and materials.

Please do not enter the construction area, and use extreme caution in the parking lot. There will be reduced visibility in the parking area because of construction equipment – please drive slowly and watch for cars and pedestrians. Construction is expected to last through the winter.

Once constructed, the handicapped accessible boardwalk will be constructed of “Trex” and include some benches and new interpretive signs.

The Red Spring board walk was funded in round two of Southern Nevada Public Land Management Act, obtained from sales of public land in Las Vegas Valley in 2001.
