Event Details

Hike with Tom on a fairly strenuous, 2.4-mile round-trip hike that runs up a canyon and over sandstone to a large natural depression (a “tank”or”tinaja”) near the top of the Calico Hills ridge. The tank sometimes holds water, and there are great views of Calico Basin and the Las Vegas Valley from a saddle just beyond the tank.

Registration necessary/limited space. Call (702) 515-5367. Time of hike and meet-up location will be given during registration.

Ages 9+. Bring at least 1 liter of water per person for this hike, use sun protection, wear good hiking shoes, and dress for the weather. Restrooms are located at the parking lots. There is no cell service on the trail or in most areas of the Red Rock Canyon. Please no pets on this hike.
