Event Details

Birdwatching is at its best in the desert from winter into early spring. Many birds from the north, including migrating songbirds, water birds, and raptors, fly down and spend the mild winter in the Mojave Desert. Others can be seen passing through on their way to places farther south. Even birds in the higher reaches of the local Spring Mountains make their way down to lower elevations and can be seen in Red Rock Canyon and other areas in the Las Vegas Valley. Learn what birds are around the area at this time, as well as where to look for them and basic identification techniques at this tabletop presentation.
