Event Details
Celebrate Earth Day at Red Rock Canyon! You can’t get much closer to the earth than when you stroll across the desert floor! Join us for a terrestrial celebration on Friday, April 22nd, at 9:00 a.m.
Ranger Tom from the BLM and Interpretive Naturalist Ben Shafer (CIG) from the Southern Nevada Conservancy will team up to lead an easy (2.75 miles, mostly flat) recreational walk along the Moenkopi / Calico Hills Trail from the Red Rock Canyon Visitor Center to the red rocks of Calico I and back. We’ll explore the desert’s treasures and learn all about the Earth Day Movement. Bring water and enthusiasm!
N.B. No reservation is needed for this walk, but there is an entrance fee to drive to the Visitor Center and reservations are required for all vehicles that enter Red Rock Canyon after 8:00 a.m. We’ll meet in front of the Red Rock Canyon Visitor Center at 9:00.
