Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area
Join a Bureau of Land Management ranger on this 3-mile (4.8 km) round-trip hike with about 600 ft (200 m) of elevation gain to celebrate the first sunset of spring! Watch the sunset illuminate Turtlehead Peak and the Calico Hills and learn how daily, seasonal, and geologic cycles influence life in the Mojave Desert.
Interpretive programs at Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area are a free public service. Advance registration at redrockcanyonlvprograms.timetap.com is required to attend this program. This program begins after the Timed Entry requirement is over for the day, so no Timed Entry is needed. The entry fee to enter Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area will be required reaching the Fee Station or a valid Public Lands Pass (America the Beautiful).
When visiting Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area, it is important to dress accordingly for the weather. It is recommended to wear sunscreen, appropriate footwear, bring a hat, sunglasses, and plenty of water.
