It’s Valentine’s Day, so show your heart some love with a 3-mile (4.8 km) round-trip hike down the Pine Creek Canyon Trail to learn about the health benefits of outdoor recreation with a Bureau of Land Management Park Ranger! This hike is considered moderate, but active beginners are encouraged.
The trail is flat overall, but there is approximately a 300 ft (92 m) decent in the beginning of the hike and ascent at the end of the hike to get back to the road. This will likely get your heart pumping just a bit! Water is not available at the Pine Creek Canyon Trailhead, so be sure to fill up at the Red Rock Canyon Visitor Center before you start the Scenic Drive.
Interpretive programs at Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area are a free public service. Advance registration at redrockcanyonlvprograms.timetap.com is required to attend this program. Additionally, a Red Rock Canyon Scenic Drive Timed Entry reservation (available at www.recreation.gov or by calling 1-877-444-6777) is required.
