Event Details

Join a Park Ranger for a short walk around Sandstone Quarry where we will be observing and stopping to talk about the different cultural and historical aspects we find along the way. This hike is in the Easy Hiking Category and will be about 1 mile. There is no water available at Sandstone Quarry, be sure to bring your own when you visit.

Interpretive programs at Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area are a free public service. No registration is required for this program, however, a Red Rock Canyon Scenic Drive Timed Entry reservation (available at www.recreation.gov or by calling 1-877-444-6777) is required.

When visiting Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area, it is important to dress accordingly for the weather. It is recommended to wear sunscreen, appropriate footwear, bring a hat, sunglasses, and plenty of water.
