Join an Interpretive Naturalist to explore Icebox Canyon, see for yourself if it is truly as cold as the name suggests. This 2.2 mile (3.54 km) strenuous hike will meander across the desert, through the wash and into the dead end canyon. This hike ends at a dry (or wet) seasonal waterfall in a narrow canyon.

Make sure that you bring at least 1 liter of water per person for this hike. This hike will take about 2 hours and is rated as strenuous. The hike will start and end at the Icebox trailhead.

Interpretive programs at Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area are a free public service. Advance registration at https://redrockcanyonlvprograms.timetap.com/#/ is required to attend this program. Additionally, a Red Rock Canyon Scenic Drive Timed Entry reservation (available at www.recreation.gov or by calling 1-877-444-6777) is required from 8am to 5pm in May.

When visiting Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area, it is important to dress accordingly for the weather. It is recommended to wear sunscreen, appropriate footwear, bring a hat, sunglasses, and plenty of water.
