Event Details

Long before the neon lights of Las Vegas, long before the towering desert landscapes, the Las Vegas Valley was a tropical ocean teeming with life. Join a Bureau of Land Management ranger on a 3 mi (4.8 km) round-trip moderate hike and journey back 275 million years to explore the underwater world of the Permian Kaibab Sea. While all fossils in Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area are protected, we encourage you to capture the magic with your camera.
