Event Details

Hike with Tom on one of Red Rock Canyon’s most interesting geological features: the Keystone Thrust. We will see where the Cambrian limestone has moved on top of the younger Jurassic sandstone. You will be able to stand on the contact zone between these two periods in time. We will also see a cooking site used possibly as long as 1,000 years ago. Moderate difficulty. 2 miles.

Registration necessary/limited space. Call (702) 515-5367. Time of hike and meet-up location will be given during registration.

Ages 9+. Bring at least 1 liter of water per person for this hike, use sun protection, wear good hiking shoes, and dress for the weather. Restrooms are located at the parking lots. There is no cell service on the trail or in most areas of the Red Rock Canyon. Please no pets on this hike.
