Event Details

Marvel through a narrow sandstone canyon full of fascinating cliffs and boulders on a ranger-guided hike! Join a Bureau of Land Management (BLM) ranger on a guided 3.5-mile (5.6 kilometer) hike through Kraft Mountain. Learn about the fantastic rock formations and colors of Kraft Mountain as we hike and scramble our way down through a majestic sandstone canyon.

This route is considered difficult, as you will move over steep, rocky terrain where you will need to use your hands and feet for balance and support. In some places, you must suspend yourself off the ground by pushing against the sandstone walls to move around rocky obstacles.

NOTE: This program DOES NOT take place at the Visitor Center or Scenic Drive. You will be provided directions in your confirmation email (check your spam folder).

Interpretive programs at Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area are a free public service. Advance registration at redrockcanyonlvprograms.timetap.com is required to attend this program. This event does not take place along the Scenic Drive, so no Scenic Drive entry fees required to attend this program.
