Event Details
Come and hike with Tom to La Madre Spring. This hike follows an old road up a canyon with red and white sandstone cliffs on one side and gray limestone mountains on the other. The trail takes you to La Madre Spring where you’ll see water for wildlife and a pleasant contrast with the desert environment. The vegetation in the canyon is fairly dense, and with the pinyon pine, juniper, and scrub oaks it actually feels like a forest.
Registration necessary/limited space. Call (702) 515-5367. Time of hike and meet-up location will be given during registration.
Ages 9+. Bring at least 1 liter of water per person for this hike, use sun protection, wear good hiking shoes, and dress for the weather. Restrooms are located at the Willow Spring parking lot. There is no cell service on the trail or in most areas of the Red Rock Canyon. Please no pets on this hike.
