Event Details

See Red Rock Canyon in a whole new light. Join Interpretive Naturalists from 6:30 PM  to 8:30 PM for a night hike at First Creek Canyon to celebrate International Dark Sky Week. Try to spot wildlife as sunset turns to dusk, and dusk turns to dark. Appreciate the desert quiet as the stars emerge.

This hike will take place at First Creek Canyon, covering 3 miles and 300 feet of elevation gain. Hiking experience is recommended. Bring at least 1 liter of water per person, a light source, good hiking shoes, use sun protection and make sure to dress for the weather. There is no cell service on the trail or in most areas of Red Rock Canyon.

Interpretive programs at Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area are a free public service. Advance registration at https://redrockcanyonlvprograms.timetap.com/ is required to attend this program. If you plan to visit the Red Rock Canyon Scenic Drive or Visitor Center, please make a timed entry reservation at www.recreation.gov or by calling 1-877-444-6777.

When visiting Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area, it is important to dress accordingly for the weather. It is recommended to wear sunscreen, appropriate footwear, bring a hat, sunglasses, and plenty of water.
