Are you passionate about capturing the beauty of nature on paper? Join our naturalists for an inspiring adventure! During this two-hour program, you’ll connect with like-minded individuals as we explore Ash Springs. Let the plants, critters, and rugged escarpment ignite your imagination as we journey into the rocks. As we reach our destination, you’ll have approximately an hour to express yourself through doodling, journaling, or simply scribbling. Feel free to follow the provided prompts or let your creative brain wander wherever it takes you. Paper and pens are provided.

This program will cover about 1 mile of trail and 200 ft of elevation gain on the Ash Springs Trail off the Kraft Mountain parking lot.

Interpretive programs at Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area are a free public service. Advance registration at is required to attend this program. Additionally, a Red Rock Canyon Scenic Drive Timed Entry reservation (available at or by calling 1-877-444-6777) is required.

When visiting Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area, it is important to dress accordingly for the weather. It is recommended to wear sunscreen, appropriate footwear, bring a hat, sunglasses, and plenty of water.
