Event Details

See spectacular Native American pictographs and petroglyphs at the Petroglyph Wall Trailhead in the Willow Springs area with a Park Ranger from the Bureau of Land Management. The hikes will begin at the beginning of each hour and on the half hour. The Ranger will lead short 15-minute hikes to this historical site and teach visitors about Native American groups from the area and how they survived in the Mojave Desert. Visitors will be guided to the Petroglyph Wall and then be allowed to hike back to the parking area on their own, taking in the sights and sounds of the desert landscape and reminiscing years past.

Interpretive programs at Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area are a free public service. No registration is required for this program, however, a Red Rock Canyon Scenic Drive Timed Entry reservation (available at or by calling 1-877-444-6777) is required.

When visiting Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area, it is important to dress accordingly for the weather. It is recommended to wear sunscreen, appropriate footwear, bring a hat, sunglasses, and plenty of water.
