Event Details

Hike with Tom into one of the prettiest canyons in the Red Rock Canyon. How did it get its name? While there we will visit the remains of the Wilson Homestead, a homestead from the 1920s. It is not uncommon to see the rock climbers on the walls of the canyon’s beautiful Aztec sandstone. Make sure that you bring at least 1 liter of water per person for this hike. This trail is a little less than 3 miles, and the hike will start and end at the Pine Creek Parking Lot.

Interpretive programs at Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area are a free public service. Advance registration at https://redrockcanyonlvprograms.timetap.com/#/  is required to attend this program. Additionally, a Red Rock Canyon Scenic Drive Timed Entry reservation (available at www.recreation.gov or by calling 1-877-444-6777) is required.

When visiting Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area, it is important to dress accordingly for the weather. It is recommended to wear sunscreen, appropriate footwear, bring a hat, sunglasses, and plenty of water. A comprehensive list of all Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Programs can be found at www.redrockcanyonlv.org. For questions about this program please call 702-515-5367.
