Red Rock Junior Rangers

Event Details

Do you have a loved one who dreams of becoming a Junior Ranger? Now’s your chance to make that dream come true! Join a Bureau of Land Management Ranger for an exciting Junior Ranger program. You and your child will explore the wonders of Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area while learning about the important Leave No Trace principles. Plus, every month, your Junior Ranger can earn a badge for completing the program!

There are seven awesome Junior Ranger programs, each focusing on a different principle of Leave No Trace. If your Junior Ranger collects all seven badges, they’ll receive their very own Red Rock Junior Ranger display banner!

This month, we’ll dive into the principle of trash your trash! We’ll learn about why we should make sure all of our trash makes it into a garbage can when in nature, the consequences of not throwing away our trash, we’ll play a fun Leave No Trace game, and then embark on a delightful 1.1 mile (1.7 km) easy hike where we will help keep our beautiful public lands clean by picking up litter that we see. The whole family is welcome to join in the fun, and at the end, we’ll celebrate by handing out badges to our Junior Rangers! Trash grabbers and bags will be provided.
