Event Details
Join us anytime from 9:00AM to 11:30 AM to learn about the history of Sandstone Quarry. Many popular hikes start from this parking lot, so countless hikers pass through the Sandstone Quarry each day, but many do not know the history of this place, and may wonder why there are near perfect cubic slabs of sandstone laying around. Talk with an Interpretive Naturalist who will be at Sandstone Quarry from 9:00-11:30 AM to learn more about the history of what was once a real working quarry.
Registration is not required, all are welcome.
The interpretive naturalist will be speaking with visitors outside, so dress accordingly for the weather. Additionally when visiting Red Rock Canyon NCA it is recommended to wear sunscreen, bring a hat, sunglasses, and plenty of water, and if planning to hike wear sturdy shoes.
Age Limit: None
