Sprout Scouts

Event Details

Join Sprout Scouts and discover the fascinating plants of Red Rock Canyon. Designed for ages 8–11, this program invites children to become nature detectives through movement, storytelling, and arts and crafts as they explore the special adaptations that help plants survive in the Mojave Desert. Each month, Sprout Scouts will investigate a different plant species, focusing on the mesquite tree in October, Stansbury cliffrose in November, and the cholla cactus in December.

Interpretive programs at Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area are a free public service. Please note: Advance registration at redrockcanyonlvprograms.timetap.com is required to attend this program. A Red Rock Canyon Scenic Drive Timed Entry reservation (available at www.recreation.gov or by calling 1-877-444-6777) is also required.

Age Limit: 8-11 (family members are welcome)
