Join our knowledgeable Bureau of Land Management Park Ranger at the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area Visitor Center on a journey through the sun-kissed desert landscape. Immerse yourself in the untamed beauty of the Mojave Yucca and the aromatic Creosote as we traverse towards the mesmerizing Calico Hills, where swirling red sandstone formations await.

During this captivating hike, you’ll discover the remarkable adaptations that desert species have honed over time to thrive in the scorching heat. Learn how water, a precious resource, continuously shapes the ever-changing environment at Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area. This hike is 2.75 miles (4.5km) with a total elevation gain of 200 feet.

Interpretive programs at Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area are a free public service. Advance registration at redrockcanyonlvprograms.timetap.com is required to attend this program. Additionally, a Red Rock Canyon Scenic Drive Timed Entry reservation (available at www.recreation.gov or by calling 1-877-444-6777) is required.

When visiting Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area, it is important to dress accordingly for the weather. It is recommended to wear sunscreen, appropriate footwear, bring a hat, sunglasses, and plenty of water.
