Southern Nevada Conservancy, in partnership with the Bureau of Land Management, is excited to welcome school groups and educators. We’re honored you’ve chosen us for your field trip and can’t wait to share the beauty and science of public lands with your students.

What We Offer
Field Trips
We provide curriculum-based field trips led by naturalists and rangers that highlight the wonders of Red Rock Canyon. Each program is tailored to specific grade levels and aligns with educational standards. Our aim is to inspire curiosity, promote stewardship, and connect students to the unique natural and cultural resources of the Mojave Desert.

Assemblies
Can’t make it to Red Rock Canyon? We’ll come to you! Our naturalists offer fun and engaging assemblies that showcase the wonders of the Mojave Desert and Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area. We also provide special assemblies for 4th graders as part of the Every Kid Outdoors (EKO) program. Students who complete this program can earn their Every Kid Outdoors Pass, granting them free access to public lands for an entire year.

Visitor Center & Moenkopi Trail
Grade: 1st & 2nd Grade Only
Days Offered: Friday
Lost Creek - Children's Discovery
Grade: 3rd-5th Grade Only
Days Offered: Wednesdays & Thursdays
Pine Creek Canyon
Grade: 6th-8th, 9th-12 Grade Only
Days Offered: Select Thursdays
Grade Specific Locations
Guidelines
- Each field trip location is designated for a specific grade level, and bookings are limited to the assigned location, regardless of student skill level.
- To ensure equitable access for all schools, each school may reserve up to two field trip days. The maximum group size is limited to 60 students.
- Chaperones 1 per 10-12 students. *Please note that specialized program teacher assistants who are required to oversee an individual student do not count toward the chaperone ratio. Additional chaperones will be needed to meet our required supervision guidelines.
- For 4th grade, Pine Creek Canyon can be booked as an alternative route; however, Lost Creek remains the primary location.

Bus Grants
Title I Schools: Bus grants are available through the nonprofit Friends of Red Rock Canyon to help cover the cost of transportation to and from Red Rock Canyon. Learn more and apply here.
