The bright yellow flowers of Mojave popcorn flower (Cryptantha confertiflora), also known as yellow/golden cryptantha, guarantee to catch your eye while hiking at Red Rock Canyon. From March through May, you can find these ball-like cluster of small flowers along gravelly and rocky terrain. Mojave popcorn flower grows up to 18 inches tall and features hairs along the gray-green stems & leaves to reflect sunlight, cool off the plant, reduce water loss, and prevent predation.
