5TH GRADE: EARTH SYSTEMS AND YOU
LOCATION: LOST CREEK- CHILDREN'S DISCOVERY
DISTANCE: .8 MI
DESCRIPTION: MODERATELY EASY, SOME LOOSE GRAVEL
DAYS OFFERED: WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY
The field trip consists of a 1-hour hike through Lost Creek Children’s Discovery Trail. Students will extend their learning about Earth’s systems through place-based observations along the trail, and as they explore, they will carefully observe the terrain, plant life, signs of water flow, and other natural features. Students will also search for clues that reveal how Earth’s systems, water, land, and living organisms, interact with one another. Through these hands on observations, they will develop a deeper understanding of the interconnectedness of natural processes and the role each element plays in shaping the environment.
